acasa is a single place to set up and manage all your household bills with the people you live with. Setting up all of your bills takes less than 5 minutes and each person in your home can pay their share of the bill directly to the provider so no one is left out of pocket.
acasa will always keep your home notified about the set up and payments of bills via the app and email. The app is a dashboard for your home to view all your bills, manage payments and even track any other household expense. You'll always know how much you owe.
To get started, you fill out some details about your house so that we can give you a quote for your bills. On average, our tariffs are £200 less expensive per year than the UK average - we help most homes save money! If you're happy with the quote, you can finish signing up by adding a payment card. Once one payment card is added for your home, we will start the set up process for each of your bills. After that, you'll be able to invite the other people in your house to join acasa and add their payment cards, so that we can bill each person for their share directly.
Energy, broadband, TV Licence and water. Council tax is coming soon, starting in London before 2018.
We are partnered with Octopus energy to provide some of the cheapest, greenest energy on the market. For broadband, you can sign up with Origin or Zone broadband for great value affordable ADSL / fibre. For TV Licence and water, we'll set up your accounts and handle billing for TV Licensing and your water company.
Firstly, we offer great value. We do this by partnering with some of the best, fairest, suppliers on the market. Your house could be saving up to £200 per year compared to the UK average. Secondly, we save you time dealing with household admin. Normally you have to deal with getting set up with 4 or 5 different providers whenever you move house. Plus dealing with awkward conversations and tension if someone in your home doesn't pay their share. Finally, we help provide peace of mind to help you budget monthly as you can always be confident everything is being paid on time. We think it's the future.
Even if you already have your bills set up, you can still switch your major bills to be managed by acasa. By switching, you’ll benefit from all our great features such as automatically split bills, full transparency and visibility on your services and a potential saving of £200/year compared to the average UK house!
If you're not ready for that, you can still use acasa for keeping track of everything and making sure people are getting paid back - it's completely free to use acasa to track all your household expenses.
Water - Immediately! There is no switch over or set-up needed for water. If you are new to the lease, we will update the account details with your supplier so they have the correct names and move-in date. If you have already been living in your property, we will transition your water bill to be managed inside the acasa app as soon as you like.
TV License - Immediately! You’ll be charged your first monthly payment for TV License on the 5th of the month you sign up. After you make your first payment, you will receive an email containing your TV License.
Broadband - The fastest we can set up broadband is 10-14 days. You will be contacted by the broadband provider you choose, either Zone Broadband or Origin Broadband, to set an installation date/time.
Energy - The switchover to Octopus Energy managed be acasa should take 17 days. The first payment will be due 5 days before your switchover. If you have already moved into your home, your energy is automatically provided by the current supplier to the home. You will also need to pay the final bill for the house's previous supplier, but we can help you figure this out if needed.

who is acasa for? |

Definitely! Most students end up overpaying for their bills because they just stick with the existing suppliers when they move in or use an expensive bill aggregator with additional fees. The average UK house saves £200/year by setting their bills up with acasa, so you get the benefits of saving loads, as well as not having to worry about all this household and financial admin when you really just want to focus on the library. Ok, the bar.
Absolutely - Multiple people living together dealing with multiple services, bills and payments is a recipe for confusion and stress. acasa takes care of all and more - great if you want to save time, great for having cheap bills and great if you want to end the tension caused by household finances.
Some of our happiest householders are couples - acasa is a great way to keep track of all your household bills, give you shared transparency about all your household finances - and without all the hassle of setting up joint bank accounts or anything else!

bills & payments |
---|
We bill monthly, on the 5th of the month for all services.
For your first payment, payments will be slightly larger to cover the period before your first bill, as well as the next month in advance. After that, your bills will stay at the same price they were quoted at. Over time, if we find your actual usage for energy or water is higher or lower than what you've paid for based on meter readings, we'll either adjust your payments or issue you refunds.
Normally when you sign up for your bills, one person's name will be on the bill and they have to be paid back. With acasa, we ask everyone in the house to sign up and add their debit card so they can be billed directly. When your bills are due, we'll automatically bill everyone for their portion, so no one is left out of pocket. If the acasa app suggests that you owe money to other people in the house, you can even settle that debt by proactively paying off their share of a bill and be a house hero 🙂
With card payments, there are no bank fees if there is a failed payment because of insufficient funds. With direct debit, banks can charge up to £40 every time this happens – and we don't want anyone to have to pay those charges! Setting up card payments with acasaPay is super easy and you are always in control – why wouldn't we do it?
If one or more payments failed (maybe someone hasn't signed up yet, or their card has expired), your whole house will get an email explaining whose payments failed and why. Those people will get 2 days to sort out any issues before we try again - other people can also proactively pay to cover other people's shares in that time. If the second attempt also fails, we'll wait 2 more days and then attempt to collect any remaining unpaid amounts from anybody in the house who have got an active card. Don't worry though - if anyone ended up paying more or less than their share, it'll all be tracked on your house balance inside the acasa app so you can always see who is up or down.
Yes you can. If you’ve got any balance due, we’ll ensure that is refunded too.
Water – we’ll simply switch it back to you to handle directly. In some instances you may have to pay a final bill via acasa, but can then take over yourself.
Energy – before your switchover you can stop the switch whenever you like. If it’s after the switchover, you can choose to go direct with Octopus Energy, or you can switch away to another supplier.
Broadband – before your installation you can cancel at any point. After the installation, a cancellation will result in you having to pay the remainder of your contract, like a mobile phone contract. If the service is not setup completely and you are not receiving internet, then you can cancel at any point without charge if Origin Broadband is unable to resolve the issue.
TV Licence – before you make your first payment you can cancel. After that, simply tell us the date you wish to cancel from and we’ll cancel the licence for you.
